A special thanks to all who participated in the 2013 Bois d’Arc Bash 5K. The results from the run are listed below.
Remember! The parade theme is “Bois d’Arc”. Dress up your car, truck, bicycle, 4-wheeler, golf cart, or float to reflect the theme!
The parade lineup will be at Bonham and Washington, near Farmer’s Market, beginning at 9 a.m. No pre-registration is required. A Release of Liability Form will be signed during lineup. Walking/Marching groups, floats, bicycles, vehicles, four-wheelers, and equestrians may be entered. Children under 18 years old (who are not on a float) MUST have a parent present during lineup. Four-wheelers: Minors MUST be accompanied by adults and racing-type 4-wheelers are not permitted. No wheelies or racing allowed. Equestrian: Proof of Coggins test required. Bun bags are preferred. Horses without bun bags will be placed at the end of the parade behind all walking entries.
Parade route: Bonham St to Bois d’Arc. Bois d’Arc to Live Oak. Live Oak to Washington. Washington into downtown, turning on Main and continuing to Park St. Spectators are encouraged to remain far enough back out of the parade route to allow room for the floats, trucks and vehicles to proceed.
NO CANDY or other items can be thrown or distributed.
Trophies bill be awarded at 12:45 on the Bud Light Stage for the following: Best Group Entry, Best Overall Entry, Best Performance, Best Commercial Entry, and Best Theme Entry.
Since 1986, Commerce has set aside a weekend in late September to celebrate the bois d’arc tree (pronounced “bow-dark”) at the Bois d’Arc Bash. It is also referred to as an Osage orange tree, hedge apple tree and horse apple tree. We celebrate this unique and tough tree and hope you will join us for a weekend of fun in the Bois d’Arc Capital of Texas!
Each year thousands of people attend the Bash, eager to enjoy a fun-filled family event featuring:
- Entertainment stages
- Food and drink vendors
- Numerous games and attractions, including a carnival
- Over 125 shopping booths and displays on Saturday
- Golf Tournament on Friday
- 5K Run on Saturday
- Parade on Saturday
- Youth Pageant on Saturday
- Lots of fun for the whole family!
Entry to the Bash is FREE to the public (no gate charge) and proudly presented by the Commerce Chamber of Commerce and our generous sponsors. By City ordinance, dogs are not allowed on the square during the Bash.
